Every two-letter word

Two-letter words are the backbone of a strong Scrabble or Words With Friends game. They don't score much on their own, but they're what let you play a word crosswise against an existing one without accidentally forming an invalid word next to it — that's how experienced players quietly rack up 20–30 points a turn on tiles that look unplayable at first glance. Knowing all 96 in this list (as accepted by the ENABLE dictionary that powers OneAnagram) means you'll never again pass up a tight spot on the board for lack of a two-letter play.

Q words that don't need a U

A Q with no U to follow it is one of the most dreaded tiles in the bag — but the ENABLE dictionary recognizes a small set of words, mostly borrowed from Arabic, Hebrew, and Albanian, where Q stands on its own. Memorizing this list turns a tile you'd otherwise be stuck holding into an easy 15–20 point play.

High-value 7-letter words

Playing all seven tiles on your rack in a single turn is called a "bingo" — in standard Scrabble rules it earns a 50-point bonus on top of whatever the word itself scores, on any board. That makes 7-letter words worth deliberately hunting for, and the ones below are both genuinely common words and strong scorers even before the bonus, built around Scrabble's priciest letters: J, Q, X, and Z. If your rack has one of these letters and looks unplayable, try running it through the word finder with exact length only switched on.

Scores above use standard English Scrabble letter values and don't include board bonuses (double/triple letter or word squares) or the 50-point bingo bonus — add those on top based on where you actually play the word.
